On July 2nd, 1979 the son of a great clarinet player was born. Under the name of Francisco Anés, a boy grew up next to the crystal waters of San Juan, Puerto Rico; where he spent all his years listening to a great variety of both Latin and American music. From salsa, blues, pop, rock, merengue, and classical music, it was impossible to take him away from the stereo, and that may be the reason why one morning more than 20 years ago, his only uncle left a guitar on his bed; the guitar that changed his life forever.
For many years he studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, but after discovering the great James Jamerson in the early Motown records, he decided to go for the electric bass, in which he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Popular Music from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. During his college years he was blessed with the opportunity to share the stage with some amazing jazz and pop musicians, and from there he continued his music career into TV shows and playing for artists around the island.
He later moved to Massachusetts where he continued playing around New England and recording his first English album titled “At the other side of the puddle”. He is now, recording his second album in the U.S., “The Therapy Sessions”
